It’s Not About the Gear

Being a good photographer is not about the gear, it’s about you.

Don’t get me wrong, having a good camera and lenses is good. You will have better resolution, more camera control, etc. But you are the person that composes the picture; you express your creativity…its your vision that makes you successful.

What is the best camera?

It is often quoted, the one you have with you!

Cell phones today take awesome pictures, and you can get decent prints from them; myself I have three cameras I use from a M4/3 mirrorless to a full frame professional body.

No matter how expensive your camera is, you can always spend more…once the photography bug bites you it becomes a passion. How can I improve my pictures? Will that lens give me better reach?

I saw this quote, “The serious photographer eventually moves beyond the love affair with his or her equipment and fallsĀ forĀ the art of photography.”

The photograph itself becomes the more coveted prize.

Thanks for reading, keep on shooting, and, as always I look forward to your continued support.
